ReBayes privacy policy
ReBayes collects no personal information and makes no network connections. Everything you enter stays on your device, and nothing is sent to Algonquin Works or to anyone else.

What the app stores on your device
ReBayes keeps the numbers you have entered, the scenarios you save, and your settings, so that the app reopens where you left it. This is held in the app's own storage on the device and is never transmitted anywhere. The numbers concerned describe a published trial, not a patient, and the app has no field in which a patient's details could be entered.
The camera, and documents you share in
You can point the camera at a page, or share a PDF into the app, to have it find a trial's result for you. The text is read on the device by the operating system's own text recognition. The image or document is used only for that reading, is not saved by the app, and is not sent anywhere. The camera is used only while you are on the scanning screen, and you can withdraw the permission at any time in the device's Settings; the app continues to work without it.
Links you choose to share
The share button produces a link that contains the numbers of the current analysis, so that a colleague can open the same analysis in the app or in the web version. Sending that link is your action, through whatever app you choose; ReBayes itself sends nothing.
Third parties
ReBayes contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or other third-party software. The only outside party involved is Apple, which operates the App Store and the device features described above. We share no user data with anyone, because we hold none.
Keeping and deleting your data
Everything the app stores is on your device and under your control. Deleting a saved scenario removes it; the Reset command clears the inputs; deleting the app removes everything. There is nothing held by Algonquin Works to delete, and so no request to make.
Children
The app is written for clinicians and researchers. It is not directed at children and, since it collects nothing, gathers no information from anyone of any age.
The web version
The free web version at shiny.seaturtle.site performs the same calculations on our server as you type. It keeps no record of what you enter: figures exist in the server's memory only for as long as your page is open, and are not written to disk. It sets no tracking cookies and includes no analytics. As with any website, the server keeps an ordinary access log of requests, which records network addresses and pages requested but not the numbers you enter; it is used only to keep the service running and is not shared.
Changes
If a future version of the app collects anything, this policy will say so before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
